Welcome on my website. On this website you can find an overview of my research work at both the AMC and VU in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

I am a biological psychologist and epidemiologist with specific expertise in early life stress and stress physiology.

My work focuses on the long-term consequences of adverse circumstances in early life, such as stress and undernutrition, on health outcomes in later life.

I have a specific interest in the developing brain and how circumstances early in life may leave their mark on the brain, but also in ways that we can prevent this from happening or maybe even turn this around.
